{"id":15816,"date":"2024-02-08T06:30:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T11:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/americancompass.org\/?p=15816"},"modified":"2024-02-07T16:57:00","modified_gmt":"2024-02-07T21:57:00","slug":"new-survey-shows-surging-enthusiasm-for-family-support-among-conservatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/americancompass.org\/new-survey-shows-surging-enthusiasm-for-family-support-among-conservatives\/","title":{"rendered":"New Survey Shows Surging Enthusiasm for Family Support Among Conservatives"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the wake of the House\u2019s passage of a major tax package that expands the Child Tax Credit (CTC), a new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/americancompass.org\/the-family-policy-renaissance-explained\/\">American Compass survey<\/a>&nbsp;finds that support for federal policies aimed at helping working families has grown substantially since 2021. The most dramatic shifts are among Republicans and ideological conservatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/americancompass.org\/the-family-policy-renaissance-explained\/\">survey<\/a>, conducted in partnership with YouGov, asked 1,000 parenting-age Americans about their own families, their aspirations, and their views on family policy. It shows the extent to which families are feeling the squeeze and responding to policymakers who are coming forward to make the case for a public role in supporting families.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey\u2019s key findings include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>73% of respondents say the government should \u201cprovide more support for families with children,\u201d up from 67% in early 2021.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Among Republicans, support jumped 17 percentage points.
