It would be nice if politicians did their job and represented us. Half the time I donât even know if they know the first thing about the places they claim to represent, much less the people who live here. What is the point of having a democracy if nobody will listen to you?
In a recent Commons post, Wells King argues against the Trump administrationâs recent gutting of the Obama-era rule U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule, Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, more widely known as AFFH. He characterizes the action of largely scrapping the rule, as opposed to merely revising it, as a case of the administration bowing to âupper class NIMBYism.â I respectfully disagree.
Since at least the inauguration, a central question of this presidency has been whether Trump could cease campaigning and learn to govern.
